About the project
This project questions whether the secrecy of knowledge protects the uniqueness of an artistic practice.
Origin and glory
Since 2021, the set designer Juliette Collas and the chemist Philomena Theuretzbacher have worked extensively on the production and design of slimy substances. They used and re-used this knowledge in different artistic projects. During this primary research, they were confronted with a “culture of secrecy” around slime recipes and the idea of “magic formulas”.
Because we think the artistic value of these projects does not lie in the technical details of slime production, we started to design this open source platform to share slime recipes. Thanks to a grant from the German Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, we could create this platform, where everyone is welcome to share recipes of slime and other liquid products used in theater and performances.
